The Servant’s Heart Award – Fourth Quarter Recipients – 2020

As we strive to deepen the culture of loving care, we seek to recognize those who demonstrate a deep, natural compassion for others in words and deeds. Our quarterly Servant’s Heart Award honors team members who are recognized by their peers for delivering loving and compassionate care.

Congratulations to our Fourth Quarter Servant’s Heart Recipients for 2020!

Medical Practitioner

Gregory Jeppesen, DO, Emergency Department

Nominated by Maria Labra, Admissions Clerk

“Maria describes a suicidal person who came through the emergency department, and learned it was their birthday. Dr. Jeppesen made sure they were recognized with a special treat and wished them better ‘future’ birthdays.”

Nursing Team Member

Robyn Shoemaker, LPN, PSO Manager

Nominated by Jake Erickson, CEO

“Robyn went out to a patient’s home, well into the night (9 p.m.), to assure the patient and family that the patient didn’t have COIVD-19. It obviously brought relief to the family. This was an act of service that went well beyond what is typically expected, and clearly exemplifies the Servant’s Heart!”

Support Team Member

Linda Boden, Technician

Nominated by: Michael Harris, Patient Experience Coordinator

“Linda Boden went above and beyond in helping a patient to get the information she needed to proceed with care. The patient traveled 300 miles one way to get care here at Bingham Memorial. Linda committed a lot of time (advocating for the patient) by contacting providers to ensure that records were completed accurately and in a timely manner. Linda offered a lot of emotional support through many call backs; and, most importantly a listening ear to a despairing and distraught patient filled with pain and uncertainty. Linda took calls after work and texted the patient repeatedly over a several day period, acting as a liaison to help the patient feel comforted.”
